When our sense is activated for communication, there is greater emotional sensitivity in the way it develops.

Hence the popular saying that there is a right time for certain conversations.

We have different levels of sensitivity. And interpersonal communication is favored both by the sensitivity of the one who speaks and by the one who listens. But we know that there is not always an ideal match between the two.

The method of Nonviolent Communication - NVC can help the success of communication by observing how sensitivity appears.

If more visible in the person, it is likely that their ability to have empathy and understanding will be increased. With these attributes, the person is empathetic with others, reaching a compassionate and effective communication. Being sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, it can strengthen relationships and promote trust and mutual respect.

Another positive effect of the developed sensitivity is the advancement in the ability to solve problems. Because ideal communication actively involves listening and understanding different points of view, and can thus lead to more creative and accurate solutions to conflicts and challenges.

Sensitivity and ability to communicate are hand in hand with emotional intelligence. This can help us get through difficult and confusing situations and build reliable and solid interpersonal connections.

However, it is good to pay attention to the existence of the dark side of the sensitivity that negatively affects communication.

A dark aspect is the common misinterpretation in very sensitive individuals, who can misinterpret or be ultra-reactive to certain conversations, generating feelings of insecurity or conflict. This situation can affect self-esteem and confidence in the person's ability to truly communicate and have social interactions.

The person with permanent low self-esteem, due to several factors that do not fit here to relate, is more likely to have difficulty in affirming or even knowing their own needs and limits. With this, it tends to the feeling of impotence or being deceived. As a consequence, it further decreases their self-esteem and reinforces the negative belief about their value and importance.
